Satellite images of Faiz Town Pakhwal Road showing how the population increased during the last 15 years:

About 15 years ago people started moving towards the urban city from adjacent rural areas of Mansehra in order to avail themselves better medical and educational facilities. The population increase in the urban part was overwhelming and it has eaten away all the agricultural land around Pakhwal road as shown in the two satellite images with a gap of 15 years.

It can be seen at the central part that Basti Jalal Khan remains unchanged. Water filtration is now decreased due to the newly built concrete structures in most of the areas visible in the lower satellite image causing groundwater level to drop down from 50 feet to 150 feet. The people are fulfilling their water needs from 500 feet deeply drilled wells. Such practices will further deplete the water resources.
